One thing that is more or less true, the vast majority of the world’s population does not want cellulite. It is hard to get rid of, it is unflattering and it makes your bum and thighs look like an orange peel. Cellulite is those little dimples that you see on everyone’s bums and thighs, it is normal to have, but no one wants it. The exact reasons as to why we get cellulite are varied. It is much more likely to happen because of any change in metabolism, change in physiology and change in diet, hormonal fluctuation, water retention or even genetics.

The most common reason why anyone would be afflicted with cellulite would be hormones. Many believe that estrogen is the primary hormone in the production of cellulite (this could be a reason why it occurs more often in women) however, no one can confirm this to be 100 percent true. Other possible hormones could be a cause as well such as, insulin, and hormones from your thyroid are all believed to participate in the development of cellulite. A lot of the time, your diet and overall lifestyle have a lot to do with the appearance of cellulite on your body as well. A high stress lifestyle combined with lack of physical activity and a diet high in sodium and sugar will put a few lumps in your thighs. One popular misconception about cellulite is that it is just fat, it will go away through simple exercise and dieting, this is false! While a healthy diet and exercise certainly would not hurt in reducing the appearance of cellulite, you would still not be getting rid of the problem entirely; cellulite is a little more complex than this. Cellulite is fat that has been damaged through poor circulation and drainage, fat cells are held in supporting fibres primarily in women. An inactive lifestyle combined with a desk job results in these fibres tightening and causing cellulite. It is important to try to improve the circulation around your legs in order to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Massaging your legs, doing cardio based exercises and eating a detoxifying and circulation improving diet will definitely come in handy when it comes to eliminating cellulite.  Cellulite does not discriminate either, whether you are overweight or not, you could definitely get cellulite if you do not watch out. Along with massaging your legs regularly and exercising and eating healthy, it is also important to find something that can help you relieve excessive water retention to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Keeping hydrated will help your body flush itself of excessive toxins that are making cellulite more visible. It is also recommended to take supplements containing ingredients like horse chestnut to improve circulation in your legs which will help to relax the fibres that cause cellulite to occur as well. Detoxing along with a healthier diet is always recommended to reduce cellulite, as well as taking a supplement that will flush out fat and/or help burn fat such as green coffee bean, green tea or any product containing nettle or juniper. Cellulite is hardly considered a real bodily issue, but it is definitely not fun to have, thankfully at Naturiste we try our best to help you find solutions to all of your bodily problems.
