The Essential Guide to Essential Oils Part 5: Anti-Inflammation Massage Oil

Whether the cause is arthritis, a sport injury or a birth defect, inflammation is just not fun to deal with for anybody. It hurts and it is debilitating, thankfully there is a natural remedy to help reduce the swelling.

  1. Find a 250 ml empty bottle and fill it with almond oil
  2. 3 drops of rosemary essential oil
  3. 4 drops of peppermint essential oil
  4. 4 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
  5. 3 drops of marjoram
  6. 2 drops of ylang ylang


Dispense a quarter sized drop of massage oil into your hands and massage it gently into the affected area. The rosemary essential oil is a natural antispasmodic and will help to relax the muscles. Peppermint and eucalyptus have natural pain relieving and anti-inflammatory compounds which can help to reduce swelling. Marjoram can help to reduce stiffness especially if it is caused by osteoarthritis and finally ylang ylang is useful in helping to sedate the nervous system which can help to reduce swelling.
